Availability is the means by which casual and contractor staff can update the days and time they are available for rostering.

Although staff availability can be updated by your admin functions, the system enables casual/contractor staff to update their own availability. This means that when you are rostering staff on an ad hoc basis (such as on Day View or Quick Fill you will see the status of these staff is grouped accordingly.

Enabling self admin of availability

The availability page (shown above) is only used by casual/contractors if you choose to enable this feature. To set this option on, go to the staff record for that person and check the box: Self Admin: Leave Requests. The Availability icon (top right) will show when that person logs in, otherwise it will be hidden.

Ongoing weekly availability

On the left side, is a normal week, where the person can set their normal availability. These are then populated as far as necessary into the future.

Choices are:

  • Available
  • Part-available (in which case the person can make a note of times
  • Never

If the person's availability pattern changes at a given point in the future (typically somebody resuming school or college) then the date can be set and the updated weekly pattern will only be applied from selected date.

My Schedule

The person can refine their availability by the day.

  • Choices are as above
  • Multiple days can be changed by using the dropdown, although working shifts will not be affected.
