Overtime Shifts
From Wiki
In some circumstances there is a need to highlight shifts as overtime shifts. This can accomplish the following:
- Signify in the Calendar views that the person is doing an overtime shift.
- Report on overtime hours.
NOTES:
- The method for handling overtime shifts shown below will ensure that the Minimums by Shift are fulfilled correctly by the overtime shift.
- A Linked shift is covered by the same Working Parameters as the shift it is linked to.
Setting up shifts to use as overtime shift
1. From the menu choose Shift Names
2. Choose an existing shift for which you want to create an overtime 'linked' shift.
You're now editing a linked shift.
- Change the hours from normal to premium hours if you want to specifically report on overtime hours.
- Use a coding to signify that this is an overtime shift. Do this in the shift name AND the Shift code. Our recommended technique is to suffix a $ onto each field.
NOTE: This shift is a variant of the original shift, with which it shares certain characteristics such Working Parameters, so these don't need to be set up on the overtime shift.
Giving an overtime shift
Usually the overtime shift will be allocated on an ad hoc basis via the popups in Week_View or Day_View
