Who is this for?

Workplaces where staff work on a regular rotating pattern, often in a 24/7 environment where staff participate in all shifts.

  • Fire fighters
  • Nursing
  • 24 hour call centres
  • Factories

What does this do?

First, it creates a coloured grid, a visualisation, showing what each position does on each day of the rotation. Once that is achieved, staff can be added to positions within the pattern, and from there applied to the rota.

How to create a rotation – step by step

In this example we are going to create a standard fire fighter’s rotation. It’s shorter and simpler than most but illustrates all the main features.

Create the shifts

Choose Shift names from the menu. We’ve created the two shifts we need: Day and Night. (Instructions on how to create shifts are shown on the web page, so we won’t repeat it here.)
