User Levels

Staff are set to one of 5 user levels: We have given them arbitrary descriptive names for guidance only.
0 - Hidden
- Can have administrator privileges
- Does not appear in any rota pages
Most commonly used for accounts staff. People who may need to access the rota but are never part of it.
1 - Administrators
- Can view calendar for all staff and locations
- Can edit staff working.
- Can make company-wide calendar comments.
- Can authorise requests for days off.
2 - Managers
- Can view calendar for all staff and locations. Many rotas use this for all non-admin staff. i.e. everybody can see the calendar for everybody.
3 - Supervisors
- Can view calendar for their location and other locations they can work at.
4 - Assistants
- Can only view their own working assignments.
Note about level 4. Consider carefully whether staff should or should not see their colleagues' schedules. Most tend to find it useful for staff to see the schedule of the local colleagues and therefore set staff to user level 4.
All user levels can:
- Make personal calendar comments.
- View and contribute to the notice board.
- Change their contact details, email address and password.
- Depending on the individual settings in the Staff List can:
- Request days off
- Request shift swaps with other users.
- Volunteer for shifts.
MORE INFORMATION ABOUT LEVEL 1 USERS
- One user is nominated as the 'System Administrator', and only this user can access [{Set Security]].
The Set Security page determines which pages each level 1 user can access.
